I believe that all of nature is art. What is a linden leaf in autumn if not Nature’s painting? Greens, blues, yellows, reds, oranges in symmetrical design! My love for nature has impacted my whole life. My passion is to paint nature up close – I think of this as painting ‘portraits’.
Watercolors are a natural medium for me. They allow me to capture the delicacy and femininity of flowers as well as the graceful curves and subtle color variations in leaves.
I also work with pastels. The intrinsic nature of the medium helps me create paintings that are both soft and strong with velvety richness.
I believe that the space which surrounds objects is not empty space, but an 'atmosphere’ that I interpret by blending and layering color. This interpretation of space is one of my signatures.
Being an artist has taught me to more sensitively ‘see’ form, color and line and appreciate detail and nuance. It is a labor of love to work with those details and nuances.
Painting centers me. It enables me to share the beauty I see and feel, and create a sense of quiet.
