About Marian Dioguardi: On Fri., Jan. 23, Marian Dioguardi will open an exhibit of oil paintings called "Life, Light and Color (the winter will end)." When she is asked : "How do you pick your subject?" she answers, "I don't pick my subject: my subject picks me. They have a power which moves me to share the image." Her subjects are often simple objects and scenes: laundry lines, fruit, cups and saucers. They are ordinary objects from ordinary time. Dioguardi, whose laundry line paintings of Venice were featured in Arte In , an Italian art journal, is honored to be exhibiting at The Gallery, First Parish Weston. She is a professional full time oil painter, plain and simple. Using contemporary realism, Dioguardi seeks to find her own way while paying homage to Hopper, Katz, Warhol, and Thiebaud.
