Sunday Mornings at First Parish

Regular Sunday Services 10:30 a.m.

Festival Sundays (Thanksgiving, the Fourth Sunday of Advent, and Easter) 9:30 and 11:00 a.m.

Special Services are held on the high holidays such as the Interfaith Thanksgiving Eve, special Christmastime services, Holy Week, and others as announced in the Parish Post.

Holy Communion is served on Worldwide Communion Sunday (October), Monday evenings in Advent (December), Week of Christian Unity (January), and Maundy Thursday.

Church School for some 200 children of all ages, infants and toddlers through eighth grade is held in the Religious Education wing, concurrently with the adult service, 10:30 to 11:50 weekly, with youth groups after church. The children participate in their own chapel services weekly, and on specified "Family Sundays" they join their parents for the first part of worship in the church. Children are also invited to participate in the Junior Choir (grades 2-5) and Youth Choir (grades 6-12), Middle School and High School youth groups. Sunday, September 9, 10:30 a.m. Family Sunday/Church School Begins Children in grades 1-8 come to the first part of the church service with their parents; infants & toddlers thru kindergarten begin in the Church School wing. Sunday, September 16, 10:30 a.m. Fall Reception & Gallery Opening The B-A will host an after-church reception and we'll have the opening of this fall's show at "The Gallery at First Parish" featuring the work of Mary Jo Rines. Sunday, September 30, 9:30 a.m. Bible 101 Are you shaky on some basic information about the Bible? A brief overview of the important things to know, presented by Senior Minister Tom Wintle. Sunday, September 30 11:50 p.m. Annual Church School Photo Raindate is Oct. 14th. Monday, October 15 7:30 p.m. "When Jesus Became God" Adult education program with Tom Wintle & Peter Boullata exploring new research on the development of early Christian understandings of Jesus. Meets Oct 15, 22, 29. Sunday, October 21 1:00 p.m. Crop Walk for Hunger Relief Weston's churches will join together for a five-mile in-town walk raising funds for hunger relief around the world and locally. Sunday, October 21 7:30 p.m. Theologian Kathleen O'Connor Feminist biblical theologian will deliver the Beck Lecture in our sanctuary.	Sunday, October 28, 9:30 a.m. Pancake Breakfast Start your Sunday with breakfast served by our Church School Committee. Wed., November 7 & 14 , 7:30 p.m. Unplugging the Christmas Machine A program with Sue Spencer about getting in touch with our dreams and desires for Christmas. Sunday, November 18 Thanksgiving Sunday Two Services at 9:30 and 11:00 CHRISTMAS Monday, November 26 7:30 p.m. Keeping the X in Xmas Mondays during Advent/Christmas season, Tom Wintle & Peter Boullata will lead a discussion of the Advent texts and conclude with a communion service in the chapel – all designed to help us keep some religious integrity to our Christmastide. Sunday, December 16 10:30 a.m. Christmas Pageant	Thursday, December 20 7:00 p.m. Youth Choir Christmas Vespers Monday, December 24 CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES at 5:00, 6:15, and 7:45 p.m. Sunday, January 6 10:30 a.m. Festival of Preachers Begins During Tom Wintle's sabbatical (January-March), we have invited some wonderful preachers to be with us – beginning this Sunday with our new UUA president Bill Sinkford, the first African-American president of a historically white denomination. Wednesday, January 9 Noon Parents as Resident Theologians Sue Spencer will lead a four-session program on how to provide religious guidance to our children. Wednesdays, Jan. 9, 16, 23, 30, noon to 2pm. Sunday, February 3 11:30 a.m. Annual Congregational Meeting As a democratically-governed church, we decide our future.
